California Hot Spot draw history

California Hot Spot is the California Lottery's Keno-style draw game: 20 numbers are drawn from 80, with a new draw roughly every four minutes throughout the day. Because it runs so frequently, it produces one of the largest public draw records of any lottery game — the foundation for real statistical analysis.

What GoldenSpot studies

GoldenSpot maintains an analytics view of 113,006 published draws and keeps it current as new results are released. From that record it derives:

• Number frequency — how often each of the 80 numbers has appeared.
• Gaps & streaks — how long numbers go between appearances.
• Timing patterns — how appearances distribute across the day.
• Set analysis — how any chosen set of numbers has historically matched.
• Prize-tier statistics — how often each match tier has occurred historically.

Why the history matters

A single day of Hot Spot draws tells you almost nothing — randomness looks lumpy up close. Only across tens of thousands of draws does the true picture emerge, and that picture is remarkably even: no number deviates more than 2.2% from its expected rate. Studying the full history is how you separate real structure from ordinary random noise.

A note on prediction

The historical record describes what has happened. It does not forecast future draws — each Hot Spot draw is random and independent. GoldenSpot is built for understanding the data, not for predicting it.
